Tell us a little about yourself and what got you started painting ?
Where I grew up we had massive legal boards all around the train station and car park. This was such a great place to paint as it was both track side and public. I first started painting there which was mind blowing as you got to meet artists and writers from all over the country who stopped past getting to paint and collaborate constantly. This led me to networking and traveling while pushing my work also. What could be better!
Many people I meet along the way inspire me daily as we’ve all ended up in different corners of the world pushing our painting out to public spaces.
Best place you have painted?
Best place I’ve painted has to be derelict abandoned buildings. These are the most fun. In the Derby/Notts area we painted everywhere we could find. Being able to practice in different environments and working with your surroundings.
Nowadays I mainly paint commercial places and the best walls are the biggest!
Any big plans for this year ?
Plans for this year are already looking busy. There’s some big walls booked in which I’m really exited for and at the moment keeping up with my commercial project as well as take time to push my personal ones.
Tell us your funniest moments when out painting ?
Funniest moment when out painting must be when i was working on a mural which was over 20 ft tall of Alice in wonderland on the outside of a Mental Health building. I was fuelled up on a buffet of tea and biscuits having to climb up scaffolding while everyone pitched in with ideas for the wall as I worked on it. The mural was completely freehand and spontaneous but I was thrilled with the outcome making it in the papers for breaking the mental health stigma.
Anyone who you would like to collaborate with?
The list is endless for the people I would enjoy collaborating with. I have worked alongside many people who share the same creative interests and always looking to meet new ones that inspire me with.
