Leanne Conroy popped her Paint Jam cherry last year with us at NUE ..
She wasn’t the first and won’t be the last catch her back in Tamworth 22nd June
Tell us a little about yourself and what got you started painting ?
Well what to say about myself? I’m lucky enough to have a creative job that helps my ideas flow for paintings.. by day I support people with mental health needs in a ceramic workshop and by night I paint. Mainly skate decks and random mixed media bits! I’ve always drawn as a kid then life got in the way so i stopped.. a friend basically forced me into painting a mural for her about 2 years ago and the ball started rolling from that! Can’t actually imagine not painting now!!
Best place you have painted
So I’ve only ever painted at Nue and for the first time last year, even though I hated my piece it was an awesome experience! Painting a massive Biggie and 2pac mural in some dudes kitchen has to be the best yet!
Any big plans for this year ?
I’m still finding my feet with this painting malarky to be honest… I feel I’m homing in on my style now so I’m going to go with the flow.. obviously coming back to Nue and painting something decent is a big plan!! I’ll also be painting at Cheltenham.
Maybe thinking of a decent artist name might be a plan 😜
Tell us your funniest moments when out painting ?
Funniest moment has to be when I left a mural unattended and the toddler of the house went all Basquiat over my work.. I was totally impressed, his parents not so much.
Anyone who you would like to collaborate with
Wow the list is too big, like I say I’m new to all this and street artist amaze me.. Think I’d need a mentor rather than a collaboration!!
