Making his Nue Debut 24th July 2021 we welcome Captain.

Tell us a little about yourself and what got you started painting ?

My style is influenced by comics, cartoons and popular culture. I use a lot of bold line work and punchy colours

I’ve never wanted to do anything else as far as I can remember. I just absorbed comics and cartoons when I was young and just wanted to do that. I just didn’t know what ‘that’ was. Eventually I just got the painting bug and started painting terribly until I got better at it and could actually paint the things I was trying to get out of my head. I’m still just trying to get better at it.

 Best place you have painted

Tough one to choose but I’d say just for the random  experience, painting 7 floors up in central Tokyo on a clubs rooftop balcony overnight with Himbad while a Japanese reggae party went off in the room next door.

Any big plans for this year ?

Big plans always. I just never know what they are until they happen.

Tell us your funniest moments when out painting ?

Probably anything that happens when I’m painting at a festival with the crew to be honest. They’re always the most jokes. I probably can’t even talk about most of them. It’s not even really painting related but we did a 100 chicken nugget challenge the day before a paint festival and pretty much just ended up with a stomach full of concrete for 3 days. I won if that’s worth anything.

Anyone who you would like to collaborate with?

Loads of people to be honest. I’d like to bounce through Singapore at some point to collab with @FreakyFir.  I love what @studiomoonchild are doing. I’m down to collab with anyone who’s up for bringing the heat though, or just wants to jam. Collaborating for me is one of the best things about being in this scene.
