Wildcard Competition

 

All entries must be submitted in raw audio and video content.

 Only video and audio created for the competition will be accepted .

Video and Audio created for previous wildcards, shoutouts  or personal use will not be permitted .

The committee reserves the right to withdraw any wildcards if rules are violated or if it’s deemed a breach of the general code of conduct expected within the community.

 

Solo Wildcard Competition

Eligibility:

Open to beatboxers ages 16 and above (Competitors to be 16 or above on or before 20th June 2026)

 

Submission Deadline:

30th May 10:00 PM (GMT) – Any submissions after this time will not be counted.

 

Content:

Begin your video by stating your artist name, country, and that this is your solo wildcard for NUE25 (e.g., “Yo, it’s ABH from the UK, and this is my NUE26 Solo Beatbox Battle Wildcard”).
Maximum length: 1 minute 30 seconds (anything after 1:30 will not be judged).

Upload to Instagram and collaborate  with NUE BEATBOX  (@nuebeatbox).

All entries will be checked prior to opening of our judging panel any violation of the rules will result in the removal of your entry.

Judging:

Judges: To be announced.

Event Format:

16 artists  advance to the online battles . Seeding will be determined by  a random draw.

Battle Format:

Top 16 & Quarter-finals and semi-finals: 2 rounds per battle, 1 minute 30 seconds per round.
Finals and 3rd place battle: 2 rounds per battle, 2 minutes per round.
The winner of a coin toss decides who beatboxes first in each battle.

Wildcards ranked 17th-21th will serve as reserves in case any qualified artists drop out.

Loopstation Wildcard Competition

Eligibility:

Open to beatboxers ages 16 and above (Competitors to be 16 or above on or before 20th June 2026)

Submission Deadline:

Content:

Begin your video by stating your artist name, country, and that this is your loopstation wildcard for NUE26 (e.g., “Yo, it’s ABH from the UK, and this is my NUE26 Loopstation Beatbox Battle Wildcard”).
Time limit: 3-4 minutes (timing begins from your first input into a device or first sound).
No pre-recorded inputs are allowed.
You can use one additional device besides the RC-505 (check with event organizers for atypical devices).
One MIDI controller is allowed.
Raw videos must show the artist and all looping devices (+MIDI) clearly in a consistent take with no cuts or vision-impairing edits. You can make video edits and angle cuts in your primary video as long as one consistent angle containing all elements is visible (e.g., in a thumbnail in the corner).

2 rounds per battle, 3-4 minutes per round.

Loopers must use the same setup during a battle (they may not switch devices between rounds).
Loopers can change their extra device or MIDI controller between competition sections (e.g., online wildcards vs. quarter- finals vs. semi-finals vs. grand/small finals.

Wildcards ranked 9th-10th will serve as reserves in case any qualified artists drop out.
