Tamworth Pride Mural sets the stage for towns first Pride event.

 

Tamworth is set to host its first ever Pride event this weekend over two venue’s Tamworth Rugby club on Saturday 14th August and The White lion in the towns center on Sunday 15th.

To mark the occasion Local arts group New Urban Era have commissioned a 12mtr mural at the White lion pub,The Mural is a stunning set of Angel wings painted in the pride flag colours and was created by street Artist Mig29. 

Nue founder Vic Brown says

“We are delighted with the Mural and can’t wait to see the local community get their photos at the White lion on Sunday and enjoy the town’s first Pride event that’s promising to be a fantastic weekend”

The Mural will be added to Nue’s We Are Angels trail over the festive season that will see a number of Angel wings around Tamworth town offering selfie opportunities for the general public. The trail was launched in 2020 during lockdown and was a big hit with locals and organisers are looking forward to inviting visitors to experience the attraction this year.
