Tamworths New Urban Era have been busy bringing Colour to the town after Colour Sergeant Watchman V paid a visit to see his portrait that has now been fitted in Tamworth castle grounds.

The painting by Artist Jeff Evans is a tribute to the long standing service of Watchman V who serves as mascot to The Staffordshire Regimental Association and has freedom of Tamworth alongside Watchman VI pictured .

The Artwork creates the Starting point for the Nue Cycle arts trail that is now open to the public.

Vic Brown founder of Nue says

” We wanted to make our starting point to the cycle arts trail something special and to have Colour sitting proud is just the ticket . Tamworth is known as a town of dog lovers and the Staffordshire breed is very popular with residents. We would like to thank everyone who made the project a success”

Team Watchman adds

“We are extremely honoured to have been celebrated with a remarkable art piece that so many hours of work have gone into . Tamworth has always been a supported town when it comes to the military so now when you cross the bridge in Tamworth heading away from the castle please do a smart eyes right and enjoy Jeff Evans work as Colour smiles back at you.”
