Tamworth train station are the proud owner of three new art works by artists Annatomix, Affix and Sophie Long after they were donated by Tamworth arts group New Urban Era.

The art work was originally painted at Tamworth urban arts and sports festival in June when artists from across the UK came to the town to paint to this year’s theme Creatures of the skies,

The pieces of art will now be on display permanently at the station complementing existing art works created by people who recived treatment at the George Bryant centre .

Richard Godwin, joint suicide prevention co-ordinator for Network Rail’s North West and Central Region and West Midlands Trains, said: “The stunning new large pieces of work kindly donated following an Arts Council England funded project entitled “creatures of the skies” compliment the previously installed art work, photographs and messages.

I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to display them at the station and they will make a real difference to the journey experience of passengers at Tamworth station who can enjoy them”.
