Tamworth urban arts and sports festival was hailed a huge success after being funded by Arts council England and local Businesses .
Hosted for the 9th year on the 22nd June organisers New urban era and Community Together CIC have once again put Tamworth .

Vistors watched as artists took part in a art battle to this year’s theme Creatures of the skies

Yo crew held the crown for best production wile Mono won best Character and Fidget best Letters.

“This year we wanted to deliver a higher quality event and by all the feedback from the general public we have more than succeeded. Our partners Community Together CIC once again helped make things possible wile local businesses and Arts council England provided the funding along with support from local authorities and Tamworth arts and events team ,We are looking forward to more art projects for the Town and hope we can rely on the support of our council and residents to deliver high quality arts for all , We will be displaying a selection of the weekends art work at Ankerside Shopping Centre for anyone who couldn’t make the event or want to get a close look at the fantastic art work ”

The event also included the 50/50 Skatepark Jam, pop up workshops , Beatbox sessions with Skilly Skills and Breakdance showcases

What a fantastic event it was again for Tamworth and amazing to have the support of Arts Council England in addition to Tamworth Arts & Events. I have pledged my continued support to the organisers in any way necessary to grow this festival and deliver a wonderful and engaging event for the community.

The artwork from the Skatepark will be on display until Mid August as part of a new partnership between the New urban era and Ankerside Shopping Centre.

Mark Burbridge, centre manager at Ankerside Shopping Centre, said: “We are so impressed with how the fantastic artwork displayed at the shopping centre is bringing even more vibrancy to the space.

“It’s wonderful to see how much visitors are enjoying viewing the collection and starting conversations with each other about it. Art really does bring people together and we’re pleased to be able to provide a platform where the featured artists can reach a wider audience.

“Thank you to Vic at New Urban Era for choosing Ankerside to host this must-see exhibition.”

New urban era will be meeting up with partners Community Together CIC in the coming months to discuss next year’s event and Funding opertunitys
