Countdown to this year’s ‘Tamworth Urban Arts And Sports Festival’ is marked with stunning new mural for Tamworth BMX Club
Tamworth’s art group New Urban Era revealed another mural this week to mark the countdown to this year’s ‘Tamworth Urban Arts And Sports Festival’ hosted by Nue & Community Together CIC.
Nue invited Artist Title to paint Tamworth BMX club member Henry at the Deltic track. You will be able to watch Henry and the rest of the club members at this year’s ‘Tamworth Urban Arts And Sports Festival’ in the Castle Grounds on Saturday 22nd June where the club will be hosting ‘have a go’ races for all to enjoy!
Other fun packed sporting activities at the event include the 50/50 Skatepark Jam, Tamworth Mountain Bike Club & Body Zorbing from Omega adventure.
Midlands Old School Massive will be displaying classic BMX’s which promise to be quite a sight for both the young and not so young crowd. Tamworth Cycle Fest will also be in residence along with stalls from local Tamworth businesses and a ride out is being planned by Tamworth Cycle Club .
Event organiser Vic Brown says,
“After the amazing feedback from the Birds Bush Road mural in Belgrave we couldn’t wait to add the Deltic BMX track to our Planned arts trail which when completed will brighten up cycle ways from Stoneydelph to the Town centre.”
“The Club have supported the event for many years so being able to give something back at the same time is amazing, We are looking forward to working with Tamworth BMX Club & many more new partners this year and in the future as we work in partnership to deliver a high quality event together for the whole of Tamworth and the visiting public from further afield who return year on year”
Vic Brown continues to be busy this week promoting the event as a guest for international Street Art Festival ‘Bring The Paint’ where he will be taking part in a Q&A session with other noteable guests at Gallery De Mount University Leicester.
Claire Clarke from Tamworth BMX Club Said
“Tamworth BMX club have supported the Urban Arts and Sports festival since its inception and have really enjoyed being part of the day.
When we were approached to have our container painted by Nue we couldn’t have believed it would look this amazing. We love the art work and think it cheers up the track. It is beyond amazing and want to thank Vic and Title for this amazing piece of art work and all the work they have put in.
We’ll once again be supporting the festival so if anyone wants to see what BMX is all about come and see us on the day”
Lee Bates Project Coordinator for Community Together CIC said “This is another example of the amazing work Vic and Nue are doing in Tamworth. Not only by creating a street art trail around Tamworth brightening up buildings, and places people use, but also in introducing and inspiring people into art. We are truly pleased to be part of the journey and looking forward to an amazing 2019 Urban Arts and Sports Festival.”
This year’s Festival has been made possible from Funding from Arts council England and support from local Businesses.
